Consulting Projects

From August 2019 to May 2020, I had the chance to work on a development project for the University of Louisville Student Recreational Center (SRC).

The main purpose of the project was to transform the manual collection of data and the storage processes within the facility into a system that was fully automated.

Information System Analyzer

I worked in a team of five to begin the process of developing a plan to change how the SRC stores and manages their data. A representative of the SRC talked to us about the issues going on and gave us the opportunity to work with them. This portion of the project suggested the idea of implementing a website that would be connected with a database to easily store and access needed information.

My Contributions to the development plan:

  • Creating a list of deliverables that were required of us to conduct the planning, analysis, and design for the information system project
  • Keep track of all duties and tasks that we each assigned in our group by the way of a Gantt Chart
  • Develop use cases, make diagrams for the use cases, develop sequence diagrams for the use cases
  • Present the plan to SRC Management

Database Administrator

I worked with a team of four to start the development of the plan that was formed to develop a prototype for the new information system. The process involved developing a functional website by scratch using a .NET software on Microsoft Visual Studio and connecting that to a database through Microsoft SQL Server.

My Contributions to the project included:

  • Developing the database with a partner using SQL server management studio
  • Testing the connection link between the website and database to make sure all information entered on the website is stored on the database
  • Presenting the final project with a fully functional website and database that ensures all data is automatically collected and stored to the SRC management
